We are a very small breeder and only have one pair of each of the large parrots and then we have a flight of parakeets. We keep it small and simple so we have plenty of individual time for each baby that is hatched here at Jolley Feathers. All babies are raised in our home with a normal everyday lifestyle. They know what a TV is, a vacuum, other animals and even a teenager! We have full time jobs or go to school outside of the home so the babies are use to a working home. I (mom) work close to home so that I can come home and feed babies when they are smaller. We allow visits by appointment to see our babies and pets. Our breeder aviary is closed to the public. Additional Information for Timneh African Greys, Double Yellow Head Amazons and Blue & Gold Macaws: All Timneh, Double Yellow heads and Macaw babies are DNA tested as part of their price. They are also sent home with a binder full of information, a hatch certificate, The Healhty Bird Cookbook, a bag of Jolley Feathers Birdie Bread, a bag of Jolleyfeathers Bean mix, a bag of Roudybush pellets and a bag of Dr. Harvey's Exotic Parrot Food. They are abundanced weaned to a variety of foods and we usually tell people to expect their baby at about 6 months old. Sometimes it is a little sooner then that and sometimes later, it depends on the baby. They are all allowed to fledge and are usually kept fully flighted until they go to their new home. We do ship - We have to ship out of the Seattle airport and we use Delta. Buyer is responsible for the cost of the flight (approx. $100.00 in 2008), crate (approx. $25.00), and screen, perch & cup (approx. 15.00) that is required by the airline to be in/on the crate. Additional Information for Parakeets: Our parakeets are ready at about 8 weeks old. They are sent with a care package that includes, instructions for care and food. We do not ship parakeets. |
